Odor Observation Report

Odor Observation Report

We are sorry that you are experiencing an unpleasant odor.

This form is a tool to report the absences or presences of odors related to the Ada County Landfill. Landfill odors are an inevitable byproduct of decomposing waste, especially food and yard waste. We strive to control odors to the greatest extent possible through landfill gas collection and daily covering of waste, but limiting organic waste entering the landfill is the only way to fully address the issue.

Odors from other locations such as wastewater treatment plants (WWTP), agricultural areas or neighborhood ponds are not controlled by the Landfill, nor does the Landfill have the ability to remedy any reported situations. Please report odors from other emitters to that location's Manager or your local Public Works Department.

Your use of this reporting form is very much appreciated. Reports allow us to analyze trends in odors that may help us identify possible changes in landfill conditions. If you would like to be contacted directly regarding your report, please note so in the comment section. Additionally, providing personal information (name, email, phone number) is optional and only necessary if you wish to be contacted.
